Africa Hash

Cape Town 8-11 April 2005

January 2005 Newsletter

The Cape Town Hashers cannot believe it is only 67 days to the start of Africa Hash and then all you bums, loudmouths, beer slurpers and farters deluxe will be banging your way to the ass end of the world!!

Please read on to find out some juicy bits of information that may be useful when you come to this stunning city!!

Registrations

Thanks once again for your support of this event, welcome to the many hashers who have just registered for the event or are still going through the process of registering!

An updated list of those registered where payment has been confirmed is on the Africa Hash 2005 portal on the www.africahash.co.za website! Please note if you name does not appear on this list then you are not registered and payment has not been received!

We want to start finalising our numbers so in order to encourage your attendance (force, bribe, demand!) the registration fee will go up to R2750 per hasher sharing with effect from 1 February 2005 and will go up to R3000 per hasher sharing with effect from 1 March 2005 so please tell (or better still send this email out to your local hash scribe for circulation) your fellow hashers who are thinking of coming along to register and pay now !!

There are still hashers who have registered for the train trip from Maputo but have not yet registered for Africa Hash 2005! You know and I know who you are and you know and I know you know what I want!! (form of Irish logic!)

Please email Irish Mist if you have any queries on your registration at anneodonnell@woolworths.co.za

Hash Registration

Registration will occur from Friday 8 April from 10h00 onwards at the Marque on the Hamilton Rugby grounds Stephan Way in Greenpoint. Please bring along a confirmation email you would have received from me, alternatively if you are as forgetful as most of the hashers I know ensure that you bring along some form of identification!

Official travel agent for the event

Official travel agent for the event is Lucinda Coote, her email address is lucindac@club-travel.co.za and all you need to do is contact her regarding any of your travel requirement to and from Cape Town and especially for any tours you want to consider whilst you are in South Africa – please quote your registration number for Africa Hash!

President Hotel Seapoint

All Hashers are booked to stay at the President Hotel from Friday 8 April and out from Monday 11 April! If you wish to book extra nights accommodation before or after the event please contact Lucinda Coote now at lucindac@club-travel.co.za who has also got a good rate from the hotel on rooms!

Hotel rooms have already been allocated for hashers registered so if you are staying at the President before the event make sure upon arrival that you notify the Hotel staff so you wont need to be moved around in the hotel!

If you are bringing children please note that accommodation is free for under 12 years old, however you will have to pay for childrens breakfast!

Single Supplement is an addition fee on top of registration if you want to stay in a room by yourself. The basis of the current registration fee per hasher is that you will be sharing a room with another hasher!

Check in time at the President Hotel on Friday 8 April is 14h00 onwards and check out time is before 11h00 on Monday 11 April.

I attach a map and directions of how to get to the President Hotel to assist you once you arrive in Cape Town.

Buses will be meeting the hashers from the Maputo train Preamble at the Cape Town station and taking you directly to the President Hotel.
